Present time x

So as I have previously mentioned it is Keira-Elise's 2nd Birthday in just 7 days.
It is so so hard not to spoil your child and this year has been no exception.
Keira-Elise is going to be one happy girl on her birthday morning.
We have spent an absolute fortune but I am honestly so excited to see her little face when she opens and sees her presents.

1. Ikea Duktig Kitchen. (RRP £90)
Her main gift has to be her wooden toy kitchen! I spent so much time searching online and reading all the different reviews because I wanted to make sure I spent the money wisely and got her something that she could keep for many years. We saw this one in our local Ikea and Keira ran up to it straight away. I knew then that it was just perfect for her!
It's simple but has a vintage look to it which I love. It features a light up hob which looks so realistic. We purchased some little pots and pans, the spoons and spatulas and some play food. Cannot wait to build it for her and have a little play myself.

2. ELC Rosebud Dolls House (RRP £80)
Was quite sceptical about spending this amount of money on a dolls house, however the child in me had already fallen in love with this and I knew I just had to have it for Keira. I have had a dolls house of my own since I was just 3 years old and have so many happy memories from it. The reason I like to ELC dolls house is the wood is such a fantastic quality. It is so chunky and with a heavy handed toddler this is definitely a must. I absolutely love the colours too. I just hope and pray Keira does like the colour pink when she is older!
I absolutely love the little families you can purchase too. As Keira is mixed raced (Black/White Caribbean and White British/Irish) I love toys that celebrate her culture. We have purchased a little white family and a little black family to represent both sides of her.

These are her 'main' presents but we have also purchased her a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Minnie & Friend's figurines, a Tinkerbell Fairy Outfit, An easel with a whiteboard and chalkboard, A shopping trolley, a Tea Set and a Keyboard with a little stool.
Thats the best thing of having a little girl :) x

7 days and counting..

Hello everyone :)

It's been a while again.. I am not very good at blogging am I?
I am not yet sure if I have any readers but I will keep writing anyway, until I at least have 1 and then I will be more than happy.

The title of this post is 7 days and counting.. In just 7 days time my little princess will be turning 2 years old! Words cannot describe how blessed I am to call her my baby and even though I am so proud of the beautiful little girl she is becoming I get so so emotional at this time.
Why does time have to go so fast? It seems like 2 minutes ago when she was a tiny bundle wrapped in a blanket.

I never imagined just how amazing she would be. She can already count to 10, she can say abcd and e and she knows all the animals and sounds that they make. She can sing 'row your boat' 'wheels on the bus' and 'twinkle twinkle little star' fluently.
She has such cute ways of expressing her emotions, perpect (perfect) is one of her favourite descriptions and today she has learnt a new one which is 'licious' (delicious).
She can say her name 'Keiwa Elise Bubble' (almost there) and it makes me so proud when she does. I couldn't have picked a better father for my child so even her name fills me with pride.

In my last blog I mentioned we we're waiting to move into our home? Well we are here and we absolutely love it! It is so welcoming and so warm. There is so much to do but I honestly feel like we have all the time in the world (god-willing) We have just stripped all Keira's walls ready to paint, however have taken have the plaster down too so have to pay a plasterer to do the work (oh how I wish money grew on trees!)

Anyway this is it for me today. Will be on again soon x

Another day, Just breath..

Good evening world..

Its currently 22:27 and I am in bed listening to some 'ambient music' while Keira-Elise is in bed. :)
Had quite a busy week so it is nice to just sit down and relax for a little while.

Levi has had a week off work this week so we have been getting so many jobs done to get ready for our 'big move'. Unfortunately nothing seems to have happened yet! *big sad face*
Naively we never expected it to take this long. We keep telling ourselves the wait will be worth it, but at the moment we are surrounded by clutter, bags and boxes that we hope eventually will be very useful in our new home and with a toddler thrown in the mix who loves routing through things she shouldn't is also a little challenging.
We are holding out hope that next week we will receive the keys and go from there so I will keep you posted :)

For any of you that know me, I am a BIG fan of reading! If I ever get any spare time, which seems quite rare now I have a lively little toddler I love to snuggle up with a good
book and occasionally a cheeky glass of rose' wine just to set the scene.
At the moment I am reading a book by Cecelia Ahern (one of my favourite authors) called If you could see me now. It is a beautiful book. Without giving too much away it challenges the concept of having an 'imaginary friend'. It looks at this through the eyes of the child who first introduces the friend, the imaginary friend and then a handful of adults thrown in. There are also a few surprises thrown in there as well which give you a warm yet exciting feeling. I don't want to give too much away but I definitely would recommend reading this!

Anyway just a short blog from me today.

Hope you are all well

A letter to my world..

Keira-Elise.I know I have written to you so many times before, there are letters scattered all around the house in the backs of notebooks and in your memory book but I thought I would add one to this blog.
Hopefully one day when you are most probably a teenager (and allowed to go on-line), you will be able to read it and know just how much we love and adore you.

You are now 1 year, 7 months, 1 week and 5 days old.
You have beautiful sun-kissed skin (a blessing from your daddy!) the darkest eyes and lovely curly brown hair. You almost have all of your teeth, I think you are just waiting for 4 more to pop through. You have the most beautiful smile that really does light up the room.
You are such a clever little girl. You can say so many words now, mummy, daddy, nanny, grandad, baba (baby), house, car, snow, snowing (this is your favourite this week!), duck, giraffe, bear, banana.. the list goes on.

Words cannot describe how amazing and perfect you are princess. You are my world and I love you so so much. Me and your dad often tell each other how glad we are to have you and how our lives had no meaning until you came along! It is so so true.

It is currently a Monday afternoon. It's 16:33 and you are snoring away next to me on the sofa (yes really, you snore!). We have had quite bad snow over the weekend so we haven't ventured anywhere today. I know you are quite bored, but we have had all of your toys out and watched lots of television (baby Jake, peppa pig etc.). You are quite mischievous but you finally understand the word 'No', even though every time I do tell you not to do something you give me a little cheeky laugh!

Anyway baby you are about to wake up so I better go.
I love you so so much my angel.

Hello to anyone who care's to read my blog!

I just had to come on here and share our exciting news. I really have to share it with someone, however at the moment feel reluctant to telling any family and friends, just in case it isn't meant to be!

We may have finally found a home!

Some of you may know that since late November we have been living with my parents attempting to save as much money as we can to get a house of our own. I absolutely love my mum & dad and I do have so much respect for them, but damn is it hard! As I moved out when I was 18 (Almost 4 years ago) I guess they got used to their own ways so as you can expect me moving back in, along with another alpha male and a hyperactive little person is definitely a lot for them to deal with. Don't get me wrong, most of the time we all get along really well. It's just occasionally when someone is feeling a little more irritable than usual, that we tend to step on each other toes a little bit and its at those times that you could say the tension could really be cut with a knife!

I am reluctant to say too much at the moment as the sale is still going through, but this is the closest we've ever been to getting what could potentially be, our perfect family home!
All I have ever wanted is a home to raise my family, to have fun, smile, laugh and generally just enjoy life with my other half and our daughter and any potential children that may happen to bless us on the way!

So the house is in the area we want it, local to a fantastic school and local amenities.
It has a garden, 3 bedrooms and the added bonus of a newly renovated loft. A nice place to lock my hubby on an evening, so he can fulfil his hobby of making music and leave me to reading my books or watching the soaps.

I am so excited that at each given opportunity today I have been unable to resist flicking through the next catalogue and sticking stickers to all the pages I like. I really am so so sad!

Anyway that is all I have to say today. Sometimes writing thing's down really make things feel a little more real.

I will write more soon.

Baby Ballet..

Hello everyone!

We have just arrived home from Keira-Elise's morning baby ballet class.
She is currently having a nap so thought I would pop on here and write a quick blog.

We absolutely love baby ballet! I cannot recommend it enough.
At first when researching baby ballet, a few people said to me 'she's too young' 'she won't know what to do' and 'what if she doesn't want to do ballet?' How wrong could they be?!
She is almost 19 month old and absolutely LOVES it.
It isn't all little pink tutu's and prancing around. They learn discipline and manners, colours and shapes, numbers and nursery rhymes.
The biggest change I have noticed in her is her vocabulary. As the children range between 18month-3year and Keira is currently the youngest in the class, she has learnt so many new words from the other children that I am amazed!

She can say so many different words; hello, bye bye, night night, mummy, nanny, daddy, gan-dad (grandad) peppa pig, house, car, tree, dog, cat, cow, duck... The list goes on!

If you have an active toddler girl or boy, I strongly recommend you take a look at www.babyballet.co.uk

You can pay £15.00 for the 3 week introductory sessions, so if you or your child don't enjoy it after those 3 weeks, you don't have to go again. I would recommend definitely trying it out for the first 3 weeks.
On Keira's first session she was a little monkey. She didn't want to do anything but try and take the dance teachers ipod out of the dock, open the cupboards or the doors and climb on everything!
I remember leaving and feeling exhausted!
The second session and she really settled down. She learnt how to say a few more words, twirl around, point her toes, stamp her feet and it was fantastic to see her joining in.
The third session and I think i'm safe to say she was a pro ;) Haha.
Only joking, I wouldn't go so far, however it is so rewarding to see her so happy.
It's so cute how they make little friends too. On each morning when we arrive, she says hello to the same little girl and they give each other cuddles!

Anyway enough about ballet! Just thought I had to share this with you.

Today we are going to get a few jobs in the house done, then take a walk to the park and maybe go and feed the ducks, however I am not sure if I can handle the steep hill! I am so unfit since becoming a mummy, or maybe I am just getting old :(
Tonight we will be going late night shopping to the White Rose Shopping Centre as my other half is treating me to a pair of Converse and a new handbag! Lucky girl.

Speak soon

Tuesday 26th February 2013.

Good evening everyone!
Just thought I would stick to what I've promised and write a post, even if it is a little boring.
We haven't had a productive day today. Just housework today, with a lot of jigsaws, baby Jake and teddy bears thrown in for good measure!

It is now 6.45pm and Keira-Elise has had a wash, brushed her teeth and has her pyjama's on ready for bed.
Not that I expect her to go to sleep any-time soon! It gets to this time and rather than been tired like she should be, she turns nocturnal!

She is currently in her toddler bed with about a million teddy's but she doesn't want to go to sleep without her 'LittleLife Ladybird Toddler Daysack' on her back!

Can't imagine how this is comfortable and I have tried to explain to her that she can't sleep with it on her back but all I get back is 'Noooo' and a little scream for added effect!
Where did my little baby go? She is almost 19 month old now and she acts so much older than she is. She is such an affectionate and loving little girl though most of the time, then the odd times I think she remember's shes a toddler and not to forget about those 'oscar winning' toddler tantrums!

Tomorrow I have work and if i'm totally honest, I really hate Tuesday evenings. I know going to work is beneficial for our family and also going to influence Keira-Elise greatly when she is older, but I absolutely hate leaving her!
She spends the day with my mum (her nanna) on a Wednesday and to be honest they both love the time they spend together. She is always so happy when I come to pick her up so it does make me feel a little better.
Gone are the days where we could stay at home, doing beautiful home baking and raising our children! I am sure I am from the wrong era!

Anyway I have to go now, as like I have mentioned in the previous post's, Keira-Elise is now shouting 'mummyyy stuck'. I assume she has been trying to escape again and has got her chubby leg stuck in the safety gate!
